About Me
I am originally from Izmir, Turkey and have been living in Canada for the past 15 years. In my teens, I lived in Arkansas and Vermont in the U.S., and have traveled to most countries in Europe.
I completed my undergraduate studies (BA) in Social and Political Sciences and my master's (MA) in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Sabanci University in Istanbul. Upon moving to Canada, I graduated from the Master of Management program at Sauder School of Business, UBC. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked at a research and program evaluation firm in Vancouver. When I am not working I love playing volleyball, doing yoga, and going on hikes with my dog Cooper — and taking photos of him. I also love observing and (over)analyzing people, which is both a hobby and a source of most of my research ideas.
